Claude connector and plugin

Use Tokentide from Claude: the connector's tools and sign-in, what it leaves out, and the plugin with the viral product video skill.

Use Tokentide from Claude. The Tokentide connector is a remote MCP server that Claude signs in to with OAuth: Claude can explain how Tokentide prices work, read the live market, estimate and quote costs, browse the model catalog, show your balance and usage, and run models under the limits you choose. The Tokentide plugin bundles the connector with skills, starting with one that turns a product into short-form videos. To install either one, follow Tokentide in Claude.

Connector URLs

URLTools
https://api.tokentide.app/mcpPricing, market, models, account, usage, quotes, chat, embeddings and decisions (16 tools)
https://api.tokentide.app/mcp/imagesThe same 16 tools plus image generation and editing (22 tools). Add it as a custom connector

The connector speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP, without sessions, for current and 2025 MCP clients. Tools that only read public data work before you sign in; the first tool that needs your account makes Claude ask you to connect.

Signing in

  1. Claude opens Tokentide

Claude registers itself with Tokentide's authorization server (OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration) and opens Tokentide's consent page. Sign in to your Tokentide account if you aren't already.

  2. You choose the limits

Name the connection, then pick a daily spending cap (default $5) and a privacy mode. Tokentide creates an API key just for this connection with those settings, on the Standard lane.

  3. Claude receives sealed tokens

Claude gets an access token that lasts one hour and a refresh token that lasts 90 days and changes on every use. Both are sealed: Claude never sees the API key inside them. Revoke the connection's key under Dashboard > API keys to disconnect Claude at once.

Everything the key allows, the connector allows, and nothing more: its daily cap, privacy mode, rate limits and your account's spending limits all apply, and every paid call is billed to your balance and listed in your usage.

Every paid tool reports the exact charge, the list cost, the multiplier and the lane of its call. Paid tools are annotated as actions that aren't read-only, and in Claude's connector settings you can require your approval for each tool.

The connector also offers two resources, tokentide://pricing-guide (the pricing guide as Markdown, from GET /v1/market/rules) and tokentide://openapi.json, and three prompts: pricing-overview, cheapest-time-to-run and spending-report.

What it leaves out

Video and music generation, text-to-speech, transcription, uploads and the market stream are not tools: Claude can't play audio or video results, keeping finished media for a download link would break zero data retention, and Anthropic's directory doesn't accept connectors that generate audio or video. Use the API for those, or the video skill in the Tokentide plugin, which runs the generation from Claude's code environment with your own API key. The Responses API is left out because chat_completion covers the same models.

The Tokentide plugin

The plugin lives in the public repository mds-main/tokentide-plugins, which is also a plugin marketplace. It contains:

  • the connector, as .mcp.json pointing at https://api.tokentide.app/mcp;
  • the viral product video skill: Claude researches a product, writes a virality strategy, then plans, generates, edits, checks and packages vertical videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and X with Tokentide's image, video, voice and music models and FFmpeg. It needs code execution, network access to api.tokentide.app, FFmpeg and an API key in TOKENTIDE_API_KEY. Create that key with privacy mode all, or private_text to keep text models private: background removal, most premium image-edit and video models, and every music model are anonymized.

More skills will follow. Because the video skill generates media with AI models, the plugin is distributed through Tokentide's own marketplace rather than Anthropic's directory; the connector on its own can be listed there.

Staying in step with the API

The connector runs inside the API and calls it in process, so it always matches the deployed version. A contract test maps every API operation to a tool, a resource or a documented exclusion, and fails the build when an endpoint changes without the connector. The plugin's scripts are checked the same way against the OpenAPI document.
